Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to run this website.

Information you give us. If you use the contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, telephone number if you provide one, and the contents of your message. That message may include details about your site, energy use, or the service you are interested in, such as solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, or funding.

Information from correspondence. If you telephone, email, or otherwise write to us, we keep the details needed to deal with that enquiry and, where you become a customer, to deliver and administer the work.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, our hosting and security systems record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view, the date and time of the visit, and the website that referred you. If you accept statistics cookies, we load Google Tag Manager, which can load Google Analytics and store a cookie that recognises the browser. That tag is not loaded until you accept.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • reply to enquiries and prepare quotations;
  • provide, manage, and invoice for services you ask us to supply;
  • arrange funding, installation, or equipment supply where you have asked us to do so;
  • keep records of our business relationship;
  • protect the website from misuse and keep it working reliably;
  • understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to make solely automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Our legal reasons for using your information

Under UK data protection law, we rely on these reasons:

  • Steps towards a contract, or a contract. We use your enquiry and customer details to respond, quote, and provide the services you ask for.
  • Legitimate interests. We use technical and security information to keep the website secure and to understand which pages are useful. We also keep business records of enquiries. These uses are limited to what is reasonable for a commercial website, and they do not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation. We keep some records where tax, accounting, or other law requires it.
  • Consent. Where a cookie is not essential, we ask for your consent in the cookie banner before it is set. You can refuse those cookies there, change the choice later with the Manage consent button, or delete cookies in your browser.

Cookies

The banner groups cookies as follows:

  • Functional. These are always on. They let the site work, protect it against spam and misuse, and remember the cookie choice you made.
  • Preferences. These remember optional choices. We set them only if you accept this category.
  • Statistics. If you accept this category, we load Google Tag Manager (container GTM-N7NCPJDG). It sets Google Analytics cookies so we can see which pages are viewed and how you arrived. We do not load that tag until you accept.
  • Marketing. These are used to measure advertising or recognise you across sites. We set them only if you accept this category.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking functional cookies may stop parts of the site from working, including saving your cookie choice. Refusing statistics or marketing cookies will not stop you from contacting us.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where it is needed:

  • with our website host, email provider, and security tools, so the site and our enquiries can function;
  • with Google, where Google Tag Manager or a tag loaded through it processes visit information;
  • with installers, suppliers, or finance providers, where that is necessary to progress a quotation, funding enquiry, or installation you have asked us to arrange;
  • with professional advisers such as accountants or insurers, where we need their help;
  • with a public authority, regulator, or law-enforcement body if we are required to disclose it.

These organisations may only use the information for the purpose we share it for, unless the law allows another use.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the providers we use, including Google, may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, together with any additional safeguards those arrangements require.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond and to keep a record of that conversation. If an enquiry does not lead to work, we normally delete or anonymise it within 24 months.

If you become a customer, we keep the records needed to deliver the work and to meet legal, tax, and accounting duties. Those records are generally kept for up to 6 years after the work or the business relationship ends. Technical security logs are kept for a shorter period, usually no longer than 12 months, unless we need a particular record to investigate abuse.

How we protect information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls on our systems and security tools on the website. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate;
  • ask us to delete information in certain circumstances;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it, in certain circumstances;
  • ask for information you provided to us, and which we process by automated means on the basis of a contract or consent, to be provided in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent, where we rely on consent. That does not affect the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, contact us by post, by telephone, or through the contact form. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. We will respond within one month, unless the request is complex, in which case we will tell you and may take up to three months.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection:
